Scarecrows in the Garden

For the past ten years, Atlanta area residents, families and businesses have participated in the Atlanta Botanical Garden's Scarecrows in the Garden. During the month of October, more than 100 handcrafted scarecrows are on display throughout the garden. Scarecrows are judged and prizes are awarded to the most creative entries. This year, three employees Art Reid, Brad Ramsey, Mandi Gibson and Mary Czekalinski all submitted scarecrows to the contest. Winners were announced at the season's first Fest of Ale event, a Thursday night tradition where Garden visitors can enjoy seasonal brews and live music. Even though three didn't take home any blue ribbons, we certainly enjoyed taking in the sights – and tastes – of Fest of Ale!
